some nights I'm just
sixteen years old
and a little bit tired
and the world is dark brown and my eyelids are heavy
i tip my head back agains brick walls and try not to think too much
but it's hard
because
i live in a hurricane
sometimes
but maybe
if i keep writing cliche poetry during class and letting my cheeks get warmed by the sun
and if i remember friday nights come once a week and it's really all not as big as it feels
maybe
i'll be ok
xx
i'm sorry friends but it seems i've run out of interesting things to say for a time. it happens. i'm enjoying your company in the comments though and all your lovely posts on your own corners of the internet. hopefully some inspiration will fall from the sky and knock me on the head soon, but for now enjoy these mildly aesthetic posts of out of context poetry and random grungy photos. stay lovely <3
((and listen to some nights by fun because you just have too ok nobody else is into this band i need some friends anyone else out there also obsessed with the sound of nate ruess' voice and a ridiculous amount of auto-tune??))

Ah yessss just listen to the whole album Fun is the best. Glad you enjoyed :)
DeleteI feel this poem so much.
ReplyDeleteAnd okay can we talk about how "Some Nights" is one of the greatest songs created in the entire universe? Forget "Bohemian Rhapsody" or whatever anyone thinks the greatest song is-- "Some Nights" is literally the band's journey about how they got to where they are and the existential crisis and struggle they faced and even though it's an "old" song because it was made at the end of 2012, it literally depicts the struggles we face and honestly? I feel like it's the song that defines my life, if anything. It's one of the deepest songs there is ever. The lyrics-- I can feel the pain of trying to find out who we are. The rest of the album is such a blessing, but the song that names the entire album has got to take the cake.
I wish there were more songs with as much meaning as "Some Nights." Nate's auto-tune is the only auto-tune I'll ever accept as being a perfect bean. <3

Oh my god. You just like made my whole week with that comment ahhhh someone understands!!!! Yes yes it's like such a passionate, meaningful song and it really does say so much about the band and whenever I listen to it I feel the whole song all the way through. It's so wonderful and powerful and yes Nate Ruess is the best auto-tuned bean have to agree. How do you feel about his solo albums? And have you listened to any of his work by the format? Thanks for this rad comment you got me so excited haha XD
DeleteOk, Follow up comment -
ReplyDeleteI just listened to the entire album!

Ahhh oh my gosh yes you're the bomb it's so good right??? Literally one of my favorite bands. Why am I the one is my favorite on that album, but honestly I've listened to them all too many times to count haha. Sending you a guest post today by the way :)
DeleteI totally understand. I'm in the worst creative slump, but we'll get out of it. I know we can.
ReplyDeleteAgh yeah I feel. All my poetry feels a bit stale right now, and my blog posts are lacking in some ways. But I agree-- we will make it through!
DeleteI'm not too sure whether my blog can inspire you, I'm a one-topic blog so I soully focus on one topic which is baking. In my opinion, I find it easier to blog on one subject but it can be difficult and I can also receive a bad case of writer's blog. That is until I find a recipe.😎

I'm sure I'll be plenty inspired-- at least to eat if you have lots of yummy treats on your blog. I'll stop by :)
